Five Peaks at Wintergreen

Loved our stay!

I probably can't add anything novel to the many other 5-star reviews of Five Peaks, but we just loved our stay. It was perfect. Exactly as described and we can't wait to return. We so appreciated having a home offered to rent that is so lovely and is also welcoming to children and dogs. I honestly think our two dogs are suffering a bit of a depression after leaving Five Peaks! Communication with Debra was wonderful and the house could not be more thoughtfully stocked and furnished. The master bed is particularly noteworthy - you will sleep very well at Five Peaks! I think the only helpful piece of advice that I could offer to future renters with children is to make sure to note that the second bedroom is a loft that overlooks the living space -- your nighttime activities/entertainment options might be affected by a child sleeping up there. Just something to keep in mind as you're planning your stay, but you should not let that dissuade you from booking at Five Peaks!

Wonderful setting

Wonderful setting and nicely appointed house.

Great place

We had a wonderful stay and even though it was a short time, we tried to take advantage of the hot tub, gazebo and hammock. All very relaxing, but we should've taken more time here. The one and only small issue was there seemed to be a strange smell when you entered the house, but after you were there for a bit, you didn't notice it. Everything else was perfect. Owner response : The smell we believe was coming from the new dryer (August 2017). After a few uses there appears to be no issue. There is now a brand new washer/dryer in the house.

Perfect Getaway

This house was the perfect getaway for a relaxing week! With the several living spaces and lots of natural light, plus an amazing kitchen, we felt it was a lovely respite from day-to-day city life :) We really loved our time there and hope to return again!

Peaceful getaway

We stayed at Five Peaks to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was a wonderful experience. We used the hot tub and the gazebo daily. Everything in this home is comfortable from the couches to the amazing bed in the master bedroom. Debra, thank you so much for the extra special touch of bottled water as we forgot to bring any! We visited Silverback distillery, Virginia distillery, and had dinner at Wild Wolf brewery. I highly recommend all three. It was so quiet and relaxing and just what this worn out Mom and Dad needed!!

This place was amazing

This place was amazing. Debra and Michael have a beautiful home that was welcoming to all ages of my family. Debra was great at prompt responses and making us feel at home. The location was great, the trails around the home AND the little beach we found were amazing. If we every are back in that area we will use them again for sure!!!

Make a good choice and stay with Five Peaks

Five Peaks is a great place to just get away from it all.. A great home in a great location with great views of not only the peaks across the valley but the sky above at night. Five Peaks is in a perfect location to access the local area that thrives with art, food, adventures and other happenings. Make a good choice and stay with Five Peaks !

Warm, cozy and relaxing place for all my family to gather. My family came together from different states to attend a wedding. This home was perfect. Private studio room for my newlywed daughter and loft for the other daughter. Great kitchen and outdoor space. Thank you Debra for providing this absolutely wonderful home for us.

Wonderful stay at Five Peaks

A great place to come "home" to after a day out hiking and visiting historical sights. Quiet, spacious, comfortable, and well supplied. It was a good location for us in regards to visiting New Market, Monticello, and Charlottesville. Debra certainly wanted to be sure that we were happy.

Heaven on a mountain top

We had a excellent experience from the beginning with these owners. They are very kind, helpful and communicate well. I feel we developed a friendship. Our vacation there was a amazing experience that we will never forget. The home is stunningly beautiful and the views are breath taking. This home has everything you could want on a dream vacation. A welcoming library, beautiful patios, a gourmet kitchen, a walk in shower ( which was wonderful) , a spacious home for families and a hot tub off the master on your own private balcony. The views from the nice large deck were so beautiful. We took many photos. It rained for the first two days so we drove to Luray Caverns and that was a fun trip. On our last day it was sunny and warm and we visited the cute little town to see the breweries at Devils backbone and a cider place. We did grocery shop at the IGA in town and there was a antique store. We ate dinner at the Blue Mountain Brewery and the Wild Wolf Brewery. I highly recommend both places for dinner. We did take a hike up to Humpback Rock Gap. It's around 18 miles from the home. Be prepared it's a steep hike straight up the mountain. If you have children please watch closely as there is a cliff up top with no protection from falling over. My husband made it to the top and I think it's almost 3,000 feet high. Very beautiful view from top. This was a wonderful vacation from the warm , relaxing home to the charming town with very friendly locals. We enjoyed some movies too in the evening on the big screen tv. In the family room. We did not build a fire in the fireplace but it's a wonderful touch to the home as well. Debra and Michael could not have been more welcoming and we appreciate everything they did to make our vacation special and unforgettable. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful place with us. We will have memories to cherish our lifetime. We are very happy we choose this home to spend our vacation. Much thanks!

Beautiful Home

This is a beautiful home and it has all the conveniences of home. The bed were outstanding. The shower in the master bedroom was amazing and the hot tub was great. Close to wineries and breweries. Had steaks on the grill our first night and enjoyed the deck. Wonderful visit.

Gorgeous home away from home – will be returning multiple times

My husband and two children and I stayed at 5 Peaks for my husband's birthday in November and we didn't want to leave! We enjoyed the fireplace and the immaculate kitchen (with every implement you could ever imagine needing...) and the heated bathroom floor in the master was FABULOUS! Normally we do lots of hiking and venturing out to explore when we're at Wintergreen, but this time we were content to hang out at the house. My 11 year old son was in love with the hammock in the gazebo--- he spent the majority of our time there reading in the hammock. When I mentioned it was my husband's birthday trip via e-mail, Debra shot me a message back letting me know thee were birthday candles, plates and napkins in a kitchen drawer! Debra cam by as we were packing up on Sunday morning and we chatted for a while. We were so busy chatting in fact, that I forgot my purse on a chair in the kitchen. She tried valiantly to get a hold of me before we left the area, but my phone was turned to silent and sitting in the glove box so I never heard it. Debra & her husband were kind enough to overnight my purse to me, free of charge so I would have my license back ASAP. They both have a heart of gold, and we will definitely be returning (hopefully) multiple times this year.

Perfect Valentines Day

Five Peaks at Wintergreen was absolutely perfect! We found the place we will continue to retreat to when we need a break from our busy lives. The linens were spectacular, the choice in pillows were an added bonus as this is one of my fears when staying other places. We were able to literally show up with a tooth brush and clothes. The couches and TV are the perfect set up to relax, we woke up each night still on the couches with a fire in the fireplace. Debra was the perfect concierge during our stay. We had an issue with the volume on the TV remote and she had a quick fix, but was also willing to come that day if needed. We ate at both Devils Backbone and Wild Wolf Brewers, the shrimp and grits at Wild Wolf was amazing. We also went to Basic Necessities for lunch which is a cool little place. The Rockfish Baking Company, which is tucked behind the IGA, is a hidden gem. We have decided to return, at least annually, to Five Peaks for our mommy and daddy getaway! Debra, thank you for making it such a special getaway and for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Perfect Mountain Getaway!

We enjoyed a very relaxing visit at "Five Peaks" for a birthday brewery tour for my husband. The location is perfect for visiting all the local spots. We hit Blue Mountain, Veritas Winery, Wild Wolf, Devil's Backbone and Bold Rock(twice). There was snow on the ground and the mountain views were perfect. The dogs enjoyed the view of the woodlands surrounding the house from the full length windows while we enjoyed the cozy comfort of the fireplace. The heated bathroom floor is so comfy as is the great mattress and bedding in the master. The kitchen is very well equipped and I wish we had brought more groceries to use the kitchen as food options in the area are very limited. Debra and Mike are perfect hosts and we hope to return in the fall to enjoy the hammock, hot tub, views and hiking. To future renters with pets--please be responsible pet owners so that hosts like these continue to make pet friendly rentals available (crate your pets when you leave the house) and follow rules as they make it easy with doggie sheets and towels...Thank You for sharing with us!

Amazing stay – both baby and dog friendly

We had an amazing stay here; the place is baby and dog friendly. Our pit bull mix was in heaven. The hot tub was great and so was the fireplace (especially in a warm April). Debra has a high attention to detail, so it was always easy to know what we were supposed to do. The house is quite private and has an incredible view.

This house is beautiful – all the luxurious amenities one could want

This house is beautiful, well decorated, and has all the luxurious amenities one could want. Especially loved the master bath's shower cave and heated floors, the hammock in the gazebo, the fully equipped kitchen, and, of course, the hot tub. Check in and check out were both easy and the hosts provided information so detailed I never had to worry about logistics at all. I highly recommend this rental for a relaxing mountain vacation.

Fantastic rental, recommend it to anyone

The hosts were extremely friendly and quick to respond and answer any questions. The home itself and location are beautiful Everything was provided (towels, linens, toiletries, kitchen neccessities) The home is also dog friendly but you would never know dogs had been in the house. It was very clean and well kept with lots of attention to detail. Water bottles and local craft beers were in the fridge too! This is a fantastic rental and I would recommend it to anyone! House is beautiful inside and out

This house was beautiful inside and out. Wonderful views throughout. The deck was a great place to watch the sun setting over the mountains. The kitchen was fabulous- a lot of fun to cook in. Bottled water and a few local beers were stocked in the refrigerator which we thoroughly enjoyed. Heated bathroom floor was so nice and the entire weekend was about style and comfort. We were a short drive to Bold Rock Ciderdy, Wild Wolf Brewery, and a cute little wine and cheese shop. Would love to stay here again.

4 Years In A Row…

And so another year has come to pass. 2016 was a year that many of us are more than happy to bid farewell to. In my opinion John Oliver Said it best ….While the in-between had its challenges the six of us started and ended 2016 in this house. With a warm fire crackling in the background, we enjoyed filet and lobster tails for our last supper. And to be perfectly honest, we have dined like kings every time we have come here. Without a visible moon this trip, stargazing was especially enjoyable from the hot tub. I don’t think I there’s a single one of us who doesn’t thank our lucky stars for the heated floor in the master bathroom. It continues to be our favorite part of the house. These few days were a rare opportunity to curl up in the living room with a good book for hours on end. There may be plenty of reasons to look back at 2016 with a critical eye, but as we sit here watching the sunrise and thinking back on the memories we’ve shared in this house, I think we’d have to admit, it wasn’t all bad. Thanks for that! Sam, Cass, Robb, Jes, Jack and Bri

Cooking Was A Joy In This Kitchen

We spent a long Thanksgiving weekend at Five Peaks with two other couples and our retriever, Benson. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, had plenty of fun, and left completely relaxed. Debra has done an unbelievable job ensuring Five Peaks is an idyllic retreat. The cabin is spacious, clean and wonderfully appointed. The kitchen is most definitely the best we have come across in any rental; we had ample room to pull together our Thanksgiving feast and had everything we needed at our finger tips. Cooking was a joy in this kitchen and it remained central to our weekend because it was easy for whoever was cooking to stay engaged with the rest of the group. Debra has also ensured Five Peaks is truly pet--friendly. The deck is fully enclosed, so your four-legged companions can't wander off while everyone lounges outside. When we returned from hikes, we inevitably found Benson sprawled out on either the shag carpet leading to the deck or the dog bed he discovered in the master suite. There is plenty of hiking in and around the area. You can wander the walking trails within the community or take a short drive to either nearby Wintergreen Ski Resort or Rockfish River. As a bonus, most of our hikes ended at one of the many breweries or cideries in the area. Most all of these establishments permit dogs but Bold Rock and Wild Wolf are by far the most welcoming of dogs and have the most friendly staffs. Five Peaks is an amazing vacation rental and Debra is truly a gracious hostess. We're looking forward to returning to Five Peaks for our next mountain get-away.

More Than We Hoped For

Five Peaks at Wintergreen was everything and more than we hoped for during our weekend getaway to the Virginia mountains. Debra Ray was a gracious host, and left nothing to chance. All details and amenities were provided. As we were celebrating a birthday, she even left a bottle of champagne, card and party hats. With the weather transitional, we were able to enjoy all aspects of Five Peaks, with the gazebo on the warm evenings, and the hot tub and fireplace on the colder ones. The location is beautiful, with sunrises over the mountains, and we saw deer almost everyday. We found Five Peaks to be immaculate, warm and inviting; and extremely comfortable. Debra was a gracious host, and saw to every need. We also are so pleased that Debra and Five Peaks are pet friendly. We brought our 3 dogs, who also had a wonderful time, and thoroughly enjoyed the plush dog beds provided in the house. We highly recommend this location, and are hoping for a return visit soon. You Can’t Go Wrong At Five Peaks!

Five Peaks is a lovely vacation property in an absolutely beautiful setting. My husband and I along with my niece and our Greyhound recently enjoyed eight wonderful days at Five Peaks. This vacation home is so appealing from the moment you walk through the door. The home is comfortably furnished and decorated beautifully. Marvelous views from the decks! We found everything (and more) that we needed in the kitchen. My niece likes to cook and had no trouble preparing gourmet meals for all of us to enjoy. Debra is wonderful to work with and was so helpful when we had any questions. You can't go wrong at Five Peaks! Becky Smith, Frank Smith, Patti Pirrone and Allie the Greyhound

Impeccable, Warm And Friendly … Awesome

The property is private and intimate yet vast with a beautiful skyline as far as you can see. Impeccable, warm and friendly service from Debra and Michael. The house and cozy guest cottage were awesome--luxurious bedding, high-end appliances and furnishings. Loved the artwork and books and the thought that went into their selection and placement throughout the house. The decks, jacuzzi and gazebo along with the endless skyline and trees that were just turning their brilliant Fall colors made for an additional "outside house". The weather was spectacular and we had our Goldens with us in this pet-friendly paradise--Tucker and Riley give Five Peaks "8 Paws Up"!!

What a perfect stay. The house is beautiful, in a perfect location and is so well appointed. It took no time at all for my husband and I to feel right at home with the wonderful hot tub and the cozy fireplace. Ideal For Any Season Of The Year

This wonderful home was perfect in many ways. The location was ideal for any season of the year. We arrived late summer, but I look forward to visiting again for late fall and winter. The house has so much to offer in the way of amenities, comfort and location. The kitchen was lovely and well equipped. The location was very close to wineries and breweries of your choice. The town of Nellysford had some quaint restaurants that we enjoyed. The owner was accessible for questions and suggestions. Oh.....we loved the gazebo with hammock. Thank you for making our getaway special as your hospitality did not go unnoticed. We look forward to visiting again, as Five Peaks was truly a home away from home.

A Home Away From Home.

My friends and I recently ran in the Spartan Super race at Wintergreen resort. We booked this home several months in advance and it was BEAUTIFUL! Everything is up-to-date, clean, and fully stocked. We only had to bring our clothes and food, everything else was there waiting for us, like a home away from home. The beds are extremely comfortable, the views and surroundings make for a perfect mountain get away, and the house is conveniently located to many of our favorite breweries and Wintergreen Resort. The golf course is about 1/2 mile away at the base of the mountain, and several trails heads are very close-by. The owner was very easy to work with and she made herself available for every question or request. My only concern would be the driveway in the winter, as it is a pretty steep grade down to the house (but I'm sure a quick call to the owner and any worry would be quickly alleviated). I am very particular about where I stay on vacation, and I think we have found our go-to Wintergreen vacation rental!

Could Have Stayed There For a Year

We loved staying at Five Peaks. The house is very beautiful, with a thoughtful collection of furnishings and extras for the guests. The kitchen is wonderful, with high quality modern appliances and a marvelous collection of dishes, pans and spices. The location is super peaceful, and outdoor areas were very inviting on a late summer day. The owner could not be nicer, and was amazingly thorough when it came to the documentation of the house and all the systems. The only time we had any problems were when we didn't read carefully enough what was sent to us. We were a family of five, with three adult children in their twenties and thirties. The house worked great for us, however there are a few little quirks. The master bedroom is wonderful. The loft bedroom cannot really be closed off, and is therefore not super private. The third bedroom is on the lower level, and cannot be accessed from in the house. You have to go out to the deck and walk down the outdoor steps to get into the bedroom. As I said, for us, no problem. If it were older people or you had young children, this might be a difficult layout. Overall, it is a superb house. Very beautiful, very comfortable, and very well fitted out. We could have stayed there for a year. I highly recommend it.

Tranquil Setting, Perfect For Relaxing

Five Peaks is in a very tranquil setting, perfect for relaxing and feeling like you've escaped the rat race for a while. Very handy for Blue Ridge, Shenandoah and Charlottesville. The property is down a quiet lane, on extensive grounds, full of trees and nicely private. The house is very spacious (we were a party of 6 and didn't feel in the least bit cramped), equipped with all you could want and more and beautifully decorated. Beds are very comfortable. Debra was very prompt to respond whenever we had a query and ready and willing to do anything she could to help us out. A very enjoyable stay.

So amazing … Incredibly Beautiful

I was hesitant to write a review, because I really don't want any competition for this property! The house was so amazing and the area was incredibly beautiful. We really enjoyed the enclosed gazebo with the hammock, it was so pleasant to lay in it and listen to the birds in the morning. We appreciated Debra’s recommendation for the natural waterslide at Paul’s creek, and our dog did as well. We plan on coming here every time we stay at Wintergreen!!

Felt Like a Stay at the Ritz Carlton

Our stay at Five Peaks felt like a stay at the Ritz Carlton. The spa bath (stocked with spa type soaps), high quality bed and linens, and wonderful amenities, made this so much more than your average house rental. Debra also provides concierge like service, with great recommendations, and it feels like she knows your exact interests. We loved spending our days seeing the beautiful sites, including the nearby pool, and evenings relaxing in the screened in (i.e. bug free!) gazebo. Great vacation for us, our 4 year old daughter, and even our puppy! We're already talking about our return.

Five Peaks Tops the List!

Five Peaks was truly the perfect home base for my husband and me as we hosted a post-elopement celebration in the area. The finishes are high-end and the home is very nicely furnished. We appreciated all the special touches the owners provided for us. Honestly, it felt like the type of mountain retreat we would have designed for ourselves. We've stayed at a lot of rental properties, and Five Peaks tops the list! We can't wait to book our next stay!

Hope to Stay Here Again and Again

This was our second stay at Five Peaks with our handicap daughter. We had medical appointments at UVA and this fine home is a short 25 min drive to Charlottesville. We brought 2 caregivers and our dog. We all had a wonderful time exploring nearby attractions like Monticello and all the fantastic restaurants and breweries. Our last stay was last October as the leaves were just beginning to change and this time beginning of August. Our weather cooperated and we were able to enjoy the hammock in the screened gazebo. Our daughter loved it too. The house is perfect for wheeling her wheelchair from room to room. Very spacious and the kitchen is stocked beautifully while we only cooked breakfast and one dinner, we had no problem finding all the utensils, pots, pans and extras. Debra is so accommodating and even placed some special beer as well as water in the fridge. We hope to stay here again and again if it isn't already booked.

Perfect Home Base … Wonderful Layout … Kitchen Was Wonderful

We recently stayed at Five Peaks for six nights. We own a tap house in the OBX and were visiting the area to check out some of the local breweries and well as have some family fun. Five Peaks was the perfect home base. First, a little about the house. It is a wonderful layout with lots of spaces for relaxing together and alone. The screen patio with hammock was a favorite spot and we ate almost every meal at the outdoor table. I was a little concerned about how the studio would work out, as we were planning to have our twelve year old daughter stay there, but the entrance is off the back deck which made us and her feel perfectly comfortable. That house is also so thoughtfully furnished, outfitted and stocked. We had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay and then some. The pantry was stocked with staples such as coffee, sugar, olive oil, seasonings, etc. The refrigerator even had a selection of local beers as well as water and juice boxes for the kids. The kitchen was wonderful to cook in with all the cooking and serving supplies you would need. Plenty of towels (both for humans and pets!), paper goods, candles, the list goes on. Entertainment -wise we enjoyed the large selection of games and DVDs. Debra even had a dog bed and bowls out for our pups! Now for location. It was perfect! Several breweries are within 20 minutes as are many lovely hikes, waterfalls and streams. Paul's Creek Slide is a swimming hole and rock slide at the end of a 15 minute hike and the trail head was just a 5 minute drive from the house. Another hike, Rockfish Valley Trail, is just 10 minutes away and a was a nice, level hike along a stream where the kids and dogs could splash around. The only suggestion I would make when staying in this area is to bring food with you if you plan on cooking meals in. The grocery store in town has a very limited selection. Fortunately, Debra had recommended we visit the Nelson County Farmers Market on Saturday morning which was our first morning there and I'm so glad she did! There was an amazing selection of locally grown fruits and veggies, locally raised meats, fabulous local cheese from Caramont Farm, and loads of artisanal jams, krauts, pickles, kombucha and more! We were able to stock the fridge and cook fabulous meals all week. Thanks so much Debra for maintaining such a great house and being such a wonderful host. We loved our stay at Five Peaks and will definitely try to stay here again if we come back to the area.

Absolutely Breathtaking And Charming

Absolutely breathtaking and charming house, and Debra went above and beyond to make the first part of our honeymoon completely special. The home was tastefully and exquisitely furnished, well-equipped, and utterly welcoming. Photographs do not capture the full luxurious amenities and fixtures, or the view. This is perfect for a family or two, or better yet, as an ultra private couples retreat. The only way my wife and I consoled ourselves upon leaving this wondrous home was by resolving to return in the near future. I would recommend blindly.

A Gem – Both House And Owners

After a super hot and hectic couple of days in DC, we were looking for a week of slower paced sightseeing in Virginia. We could not have picked a better house and more gracious hosts. The house was fabulous, the photos do not lie. Comfortable, cool despite the summer heat, a well stocked kitchen and a luxurious master suite. We spent a few days doing absolute nothing, watching movies & netflix, dining outside and lounging in the hammock. We also discovered the area. Shenandoah National Park, Blue Ridge Parkway, Monticello and the local antiques stores are definitely worth a visit. Lastly, Debra was the most helpful, gracious house owner I have ever dealt with, from the welcome beverages to her help in arranging catered food. A gem, both house and owners.

Perfect Doesn’t Begin To Describe …

Perfect doesn't even begin to describe how wonderful this house was. It's beautiful, spacious, and accommodated to our group of 6 well! I fell in love with the entire house. I have nothing negative to say. The view is amazing and it is also located by a lot of hiking trails, swimming holes, and breweries. Debra was a wonderful host. She provided us with everything and more. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in this house. We are thinking about making this an annual trip but extending it to a week so we can enjoy the house and the area more. Thank you so much for providing us with everything we needed and letting us stay in your beautiful home.

Can’t Wait To Return Again And Again

This stay was my second at Five Peaks, and I can't wait to return again and again. The house is beautiful, well-appointed, clean, well-maintained, perfectly located, and a peaceful getaway. The location is close to everything you could want to do, to include breweries, wineries, hiking trails, Charlottesville, Sherando lake, and so much more. The house sits near a beautiful golf course with a gorgeous view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We took full advantage of the hammock and hot tub. This beautiful house was exactly what we needed to truly get away from it all. Thank you so much for being the ultimate hosts and ensuring we enjoyed an incredible vacation. I highly recommend this retreat, and you will not be disappointed with all that is offered by Five Peaks, the wonderful amenities, and hosts who go above and beyond to ensure a wonderful stay! Thank you so very much!

Loved Cooking In Your Well Designed Kitchen

Dear Debra Ray: When driving up to the house, I was immediately excited to spend a nice long weekend here! My husband booked Five Peaks as a surprise for our 5th Anniversary gift. During our stay, we loved exploring our beautiful state (driving mountain roads, hiking with the kids, local hooch and dairy), and am so glad we decided to spend a relaxing weekend here. The house is amazing and we loved cooking in your well designed kitchen. We look forward to future trips perhaps for a different season to enjoy all Wintergreen has to offer! Thanks! Five peaks was amazing! Beautiful home and wonderful town! Owners went above and beyond to make the house feel like home! Would never have expected the great treatment we received! 11 out of 10! We will plan to go back one day!

Gets Better Each Time I Visit

This is such a special place and it gets better each time I visit. From the gourmet kitchen to the amazing views, Five Peaks has everything you could want and feels like home the minute you walk through the door. It is tucked away in a beautiful community but is close to local wineries, restaurants, farmers market, and more. If you do not leave the house there is a great deck, gazebo and a hot tub for relaxing. There are plenty of games, roku and movies as well. You might also catch a view of some deer which we were lucky to see on this last trip. Debra is very welcoming and provides a lot of information on the surrounding area before you arrive which is really helpful. I highly recommend Five Peaks.

Everything We Needed And More

Thanks for a great stay in your lovely home. We truly enjoyed our time and were so glad to have our "fur babies" with us. Everything we needed and more were provided to us. Thank you for all the thoughtful touches and extras. We will definitely be returning.

An Awesome Experience

Our stay at five peaks was an awesome experience. The house has all of the modern amenities like heated floor tiles in the bathroom, a huge walk in shower, a deck and hot tub outside of the mater suite, gourmet kitchen, studio apartment w deck, gazebo and garage. The garage can accommodate a SUV. The rates are very competitive and your pet is welcome as well. The house was very clean and well maintained. Our owners Debra and Michael were simply awesome and it was a pleasure meeting them. The wintergreen resort is a great location to base your vacation out of and you simply could just stay on the five peaks property and the resort property and have a very relaxing time. For those looking to get out, the Shenandoah Nat'l park is just a few miles away where you can hike until your heart is content. The park offers all types of terrain hikes to include numerous waterfall hikes. The Blue Ridge Parkwy is only a few miles away as well, from there you can enjoy the Shenandoah Mountains by way of a motor vehicle. The parkway has numerous look out points. Additionally, canoeing and kayaking locations are very close by. Combine the two, staying at five peaks and the proximity to all of the aforementioned locations plus the wintergreen resort has multiple attractions, your vacation will be set up for success, enjoyment and relaxation. I would recommend this property to friends and relatives and my family and I will be back and will definitely be staying a five peaks again.

Five Peaks Was Perfect

Our stay at Five Peaks was perfect. Debra is an excellent host, contacting me before our stay to ask about any special needs or preferences. The home itself is also welcoming, a truly comfortable space to relax. She sent an thorough manual for the home, and everything was up to date and easy to use. We really appreciated the numerous options for games/puzzles and entertainment.
Anna Charlottesville, Virginia - June 2016

This home was nothing short of spectacular! A quiet setting, beautifully maintained with high-end features and designer touches. Debra made us feel very much at home. The Farmer's Market on Saturday was such a pleasant surprise. If you are checking out the Wintergreen area, this is absolutely a 'must check out' property.

Another Great Stay At Five Peaks!

Cabin in the mountains, friends and family, baby and dogs, breweries and distilleries, great meals out and in, sun and gentle rain, drives through Virginias prettiest scenery and swims in a mountain lake...the best weekend in a long time. Another great stay at Five Peaks!

Feels As if You Are Nestled In The Tree Tops

Five Peaks at Wintergreen was the perfect getaway house as we celebrated a JMU graduation and Mother's Day as a family. The interior is airy and light and feels as if you are nestled in the tree tops. The outdoor hot tub is a perfect retreat after a day spent hiking and visiting the local breweries and distilleries. And the hammock in the gazebo offers a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge mountains. The whole family loved it--even the dogs.

Little Touches … Very Enjoyable

I echo the reviews of others before this one. One can tell that the Owners take great pride in being good hosts to their guests. The kitchen is complete as advertised. The house has tons of little touches that make it very enjoyable to stay in (e.g., comfortable beds, sheets, pillows; plenty of towels; heated floors in bathroom, etc.) To the extent a reader might glean something helpful from our weekend's activities, here are some observations. The Stoney Creek park hike (0.9 flat miles along Stoney Creek) was pleasant and easy (especially with little ones in tow). We liked Bold Rock Cidery for its cheese and charcuterie plates and views. I would not venture to Margarita's Mexican restaurant unless one has an affinity for food served out of a can. I look forward to another visit in the future

Five Peaks Was Awesome!

Five Peaks was awesome. My husband, dog and I had a great time and the house had everything we needed to make the stay a great one. Completely private and very clean, we'd definitely stay again if ever in the area. Not to mention, the selection of craft beers left by Debra for our arrival was such a thoughtful and appreciated touch. Location was great, right smack on the middle of Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway, close to so many breweries, antique stores, and Charlottesville. We loved it!

This Place Is Perfect And We Can’t Wait To Return!

My husband and I love this place! We stayed here last year for our Birthdays (we share the same day) and decided to do the same thing this year. We absolutely love that we can bring our two dogs and get out of the city for a few days with a short drive. Debra is so welcoming and added a few extra touches for our stay (flowers for our bdays, some wine/beer), she is very thoughtful and is always available for any questions. We enjoyed a nice fire in the fireplace, grilling our dinners (we love the kitchen!!) and during the day traveling to wineries & breweries. This trip we also booked a couples massage at the spa at Wintergreen (short drive away), which was super relaxing. We also love getting up early every morning to look at the view from the porch with a hot cup of coffee. For us this place is perfect and we can't wait to return!

Truly Everything We Could Have Needed

Our experience at Five Peaks was amazing. The house had truly everything we could have needed- including little things like coffee and beers left in the fridge. At first we were nervous when we pulled into the golfing community the house was part of but this house is very private and has a nice mountain view- not anywhere near the golf course which we loved. The hot tub and hammock were nice features as well. We would definitely be happy to return. It was a good fit for 6 people but would honestly be comfortable for a few more. Thanks for a great stay!!

Never Had A Rental Owner Be So Thoughtful

What a fantastic vacation getaway! I booked Five Peaks as a mini-vacation birthday getaway for my wife - and it was absolutely perfect! The house is beautiful, spacious and comfortable, with so many things to do even if you don't want to leave the house (games, movies, hot tub, just sitting outside and enjoying the view). I mentioned to Debra that it was my wife's birthday, and we arrived to flowers and a selection of wonderful local beers - I have never had a rental owner be so thoughtful and go so far out of her way to make our visit wonderful! THANK YOU DEBRA! There is so much to do in the area - breweries and cideries, Crabtree Falls and other hikes. We could have happily stayed another week - and we will definitely be back! I have already recommended Five Peaks to friends looking for a romantic getaway, a vacation with fur-babies, and just anyone needing a little time to relax away from home.
Courtney Washington, D.C. - March 2016

Five peaks is a lovely home...loved all the sunshine and good time to enjoy the warm temperatures. Enjoyed cooking. Would go on more hiking trails during next visit and would love for more family to join's a great break from the beach and it is so peaceful here, The views and the drive to Wintergreen we're welcoming. Can't say enough about the house and Debra Ray is so kind and knowledgable about the area. I am eager to go back...the home is breathtaking! tx for letting me visit.

Nothing Short Of Fantastic

Spent our 5 year anniversary at Five Peaks and it was nothing short of fantastic. The house was beautiful, had a huge well stocked kitchen, massive outside deck(perfect for entertaining a group), great for a set of couples with the master suite and a separate first floor studio. We really enjoyed cooking in the gourmet kitchen, warming up next to the wood burning fire and soaking in the jacuzzi. The location is great, just a short distance from the breweries and hikes. Being pet friendly was the best feature. It's difficult finding a place that allows pets and Five Peaks went over and beyond accommodating us with our 2 dogs. There were dog bowls, beds, towels, etc. Debra was very accommodating of our needs/question. I would definitely recommend staying at Five Peaks.

What An Amazing House

My wife and I brought our 8 yr old son and 16 yr old daughter and her friend to Five Peaks for three days during their spring break. What an amazing house tucked away in the woods of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and it was the perfect fit for the 5 of us. Debra does an amazing job making the home clean and cozy, and provides everything you could possibly need or want for your stay. She was an extremely friendly and helpful host the entire time. Not only did we enjoy the property both inside and out, but the Wintergreen area has much to offer. We spent the first afternoon checking out Paul's Creek, which is only about a 10 minute drive from the house followed by a short hike up a mountain stream to a long cascading waterfall forming a natural waterslide. That night we had a great dinner and a couple pints at the nearby Wild Wolf Brewing Company (also family friendly). The following day started with a beautiful yet somewhat hair-raising drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, where we stopped at Humpback Rocks for a good hike to the top of the ridge with sweeping views of the entire Shenandoah Valley. After heading back down the mountain, we drove about 40 min to Grand Caverns for a tour of stalactites and stalagmites walking about a mile straight into the side of a mountain (very cool!). The next day we spent most of our time in Charlottesville (only about a 45 minute drive from Five Peaks) touring Jefferson's Monticello and shopping at the Historic Downtown Mall. The last night there we went to Devil's Backbone Brewery for some great BBQ and of course the beer was also pretty amazing. Only other place we went worth checking out during your stay is Crabtree Falls (about 30 min from the house). It boasts being the tallest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi. A set of stairs take you all the way to the top with some great views. Overall, Five Peaks is a great place to take the family for a short trip away from the bustle of the city to enjoy the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley.
William Buffalo, New York - March 2016

Exactly As Advertised

Debra made our trip to Five Peaks at Wintergreen as easy as possible. She made sure we had a well-stocked kitchen (with craft beer and delicious coffee!), easy driving directions and was always quick to respond to our questions. The house was cozy, comfortable, and exactly as advertised. We couldn't have asked for a better host.
Sara Washington, D.C. - March 2106

Debra was great at communicating with us and if we had any questions was readily available and quick to reply. The house is beautiful and private. The kitchen is large and the master bathroom is WONDERFUL! All of the activities we did were within an easy 10-20 minute drive (skiing, breweries ciderys). We had a great time at 5 Peaks and will definitely be visiting again! Thanks for everything, Debra!

A Phenomenal House

Host made me feel very welcome, and was a great communicator. The interior of the house was better than the pictures - a phenomenal house.

Make It An Annual Trip!

We absolutely loved five peaks ! The house is absolutely gorgeous and has everything you need for a nice get away. We built a fire each night we were there, cooked big meals, used the hot tub and enjoyed wintergreen and devil's backbone brewery. My only regret is not having more time there. Debra is fantastic - she worked with me because I had friends coming and going at different times and she was so accommodating ! I spent my 30th birthday at five peaks with my best friends and my dogs and hope to make it an annual trip !

Hit or Miss? All Hit With Five Peaks!

We've rented quite a few homes for get-a-ways and it can be truly hit or miss. It's all hit with Five Peaks! All the wonderful things others say in their reviews is true, and more! Can't say enough good things about the owner, condition of property, and value. We've paid much higher rates for much lower quality. It's a quick drive over to the mountain and a great place to unwind after a day's activities.

Loved Absolutely Every Minute

Debra went above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcome. She reached out before our trip via e-mail and a phone call to make sure we had everything squared away. The manual that she sent us was so clear that we had no issues arriving to the house or finding the key! It was seriously the easiest, most stress free situation ever. We loved absolutely every minute of staying in Five Peaks. We came to celebrate my birthday and recent engagement and everyone had a blast. It's the perfect place for a weekend getaway if you live nearby in Richmond or Charlottesville. When we arrived, Debra had flowers and a birthday card set up for me! The house has everything you could think of. Spices, cooking supplies, pots and pans, even beer and bottled water! The hot tub was amazing and we utilized it as much as we possibly could. We chose Five Peaks because it was dog friendly and we absolutely loved being able to share this experience with our fur baby! He (and us) enjoyed exploring the land around the house and going on walks. Everything was absolutely lovely. We have never felt so at home in a place away from home. I can't express how great of a host Debra was for our first experience with Air BnB. She was incredibly cheerful and communicated with us throughout our stay. We have already decided that we will make this an annual birthday trip! Can't wait to go back in 2017.

A True Thing Of Beauty!

My fiancé and I had stayed at this property a time before during 4th of July weekend last year. When my fiancé came to me at the beginning of January asking me if I'd like to go somewhere because he had some leave to use, the only place either one of us wanted to go was to Five Peaks. This house is magnificent to say the least. When you walk through the front door and see the large stone fireplace, exquisite chandler over the lovely large dining table, and floor to ceiling windows with the view of the mountains your jaw will drop. The decor and furnishings of the house are not only gorgeous but cozy and comfortable. The kitchen is large and fully stocked with anything you could possibly need to cook a fabulous meal. All the bedrooms are extremely roomy and the beds are all very comfortable. The master bath is to die for! The shower is truly amazing. If you're looking for entertainment, there is plenty. They have a library full of movies and books. There are drawers full of games. Not only that, but they have access to Amazon Prime, Netflix, HBO, and Pandora through Roku for those evenings you just want to stay in and watch a movie or listen to some music. Last but certainly not least, the multiple leveled deck with screened in porch is fantastic. I could spend whole days out there, even in the winter. The deck off the master has a hot tub and it's just great to go out there after a day of sightseeing and just relax and look at the mountains as the sun goes down. We always bring our two dogs with us and the house is extremely dog friendly. The whole home is so welcoming and a true thing of beauty. We were lucky enough to spend seven luxurious days here. When we arrived, Debra, host/owner, had gone out of her way and had stocked the fridge with various craft beers that we love. During our stay, we went to the local breweries and some wineries. We went snow tubing and to the spa at Wintergreen Resort, but most of our time we spent relaxing in this wonderful home. We ended up staying through the recent blizzard and it was so nice to huddle up next to the fire and watch movie and play games. We even relaxed in the hot tub for while during the snow storm. It was magical. Debra is the hostess with the mostest! From the moment we booked our trips, to the moment we left each time, she was helpful, informative, and really strived to make sure we had the best time there. Five Peaks has become our number one travel destination and our home away from home.

Honeymoon … Returned For 1st Anniversary

This was our second trip to Five Peaks. We took a weekend here to celebrate our honeymoon and returned for our 1st anniversary...excited to make this a yearly visit! As usual, the house is beautiful, clean, well-stocked, and cozy. Perfect for a night, weekend, week....We spent a lot of time in the kitchen (we love to cook together), in front of the fireplace, and on a few trails in the nearby Shenandoah and Blue Ridge Mts. Thanks, Debra for being such a great host!
Eddie Baltimore, Maryland - January 2016

Gracious … Considerate Host

Debra was a most gracious and considerate host. She was very available throughout our stay and even called to check on us to make sure we didn't need anything. The house was perfect, clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The location was only a few miles from skiing, restaurants, and drinking. I can't wait to stay at Debra's home again.

Everything We Hoped … And More

Five Peaks at Wintergreen is everything we hoped it would be and more for our family get-away post-holiday rush. Debra sets the bar high for all other Airbnb hosts! No detail is forgotten when it comes to providing for what her guests may need to feel right at home at this classy mountain retreat. The moment you walk in the front door, with it's hard wood floors that lead you through to the beautiful open floor plan featuring gourmet kitchen, comfortable great room and rustic stone fireplace, you immediately start feeling right at home. The house is bright and sunny, with wonderful views of the mountains and woods. Debra has thought of everything from the hypoallergenic hand soaps and detergents, to the hotel quality sheets and towels. She even stocked the refrigerator with bottled waters, locally brewed beer, etc. Anyone who likes to cook will appreciate Debra's well-stocked and well-appointed kitchen. My husband was in heaven, and couldn't wait to get cook'n! Meanwhile, after we got a cozy fire going in the fireplace, the kids settled in over a puzzle on the big dining room table. Debra was a breeze to communicate with, and checked in with us to make sure everything was going well. We can't wait to go back for another relaxing vacation at Five Peaks. Thank you, Debra!

Palatial … Lovely House … Remarkable

This is a castle. Well a slight exaggeration, but quite a palatial, very spacious and lovely house with every possible thing a guest could want. Not only that, but the views are spectacular, and most importantly the hostess Debra is not only a very attentive "concierge" as she likes to describe herself, she's also a hoot. Great fun. Our entire stay was remarkable. We had everything we could possibly want and so did our dog. We'll be back, but when we're not revisiting, feel free to accept Debra's hospitality. You'll be glad you did.

Simply Wonderful!

We have stayed at three different places prior to this one, and let’s just say...this has been the BEST! Truly everything has been beyond our expectations and simply wonderful. It was our 10-year anniversary and we loved this home. Thank you for such a lovely stay and such a BEAUTIFUL home. I am not doing it justice. It is beyond it! Doug and Erica Mann

Can’t Say Enough Great Things!

Our recent stay at Five Peaks was an incredible experience from the time I booked this beautiful house throughout our stay. I can't say enough great things about the hospitality we were shown from the owners and the care taken to ensure we had everything we needed to have a memorable and relaxing getaway. The house is most welcoming, inviting, clean, well-maintained and perfectly appointed. The warmth of the house is striking the moment you walk in the door. The owners give attention to the smallest details, including some local beer cooling in the fridge, a fire ready to be lit in the fireplace, and a hot tub ready to hop into. The house is located very close to every activity you will want to take advantage of around Wintergreen. We couldn't wait to pick some dates for a chance to return. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Absolutely Visit Again … WELL Worth The Trip!

My wife and our two dogs came down for a 4-day getaway the Sunday after Thanksgiving and the place was everything we hoped. Beautiful home, very well appointed, and tucked away in a quiet mountain resort community. The weather was pretty gloomy for most of our visit as it rained a bunch and was generally overcast, but that didn't prevent us from having a good stay at all. Was great to just sit around and do nothing for a change. We called the Tours for Tunes guys the one day and setup a 4-hour tour of a bunch of the local wineries (there are a TON to pick from, I had no idea that VA wine country was so expansive!) so we had a great day doing that. Another day we took a ride up to the spa at Wintergreen and got massages, which I recommend highly, they took really good care of us there, and then we stopped for lunch at the Devil's Backbone Brewery on the way back. Great burgers and brews there! Aside from that we really just hung around the house and enjoyed the place. Made daily use of the hot tub which was a nice perk! Very cozy and comfy place, built fires in the fireplace every night, and the pups loved the grounds as well as the home. Felt really well taken care of. And when all was said and done Deb even offered to give us a free night because we had such poor weather the whole stay, I wish we could've extended our trip but just means we'll have to come back some other time. Would absolutely visit again and stay at this lovely home. WELL worth the trip down from Philly.

Can’t Do Any Better Than Five Peaks!

We enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving at Five Peaks. Such a lovely, comfortable, spacious home. We easily made a full Thanksgiving dinner in the well stocked kitchen. Debra generously provided many goodies which we appreciated and enjoyed. The view of the foothills is beautiful and although it was pretty warm, we lit the fireplace one evening...Debra had a fire all ready for us. The hot tub was great too. We had a wonderful few days and would love to return. Can't do any better than Five Peaks!
Karen November, 2015

Debra was fantastic! The house was exactly like the description and we had a great time. Debra was very easy to get a hold of if we needed her. She had the kitchen stocked, fire place ready and some cold local beers ready for our arrival. I would definitely stay at Five Peaks again!

Beautifully Appointed … More Than Accommodating

We brought our handicapped daughter and her caregiver for a few days of much needed respite and that's exactly what we got. The house is beautifully appointed and our hosts Debra and Michael were more than accommodating. They even drove over the first day to replace some light bulbs that were out. Fridge was stocked with waters and a lovely wine. Kitchen is fully equipped with most everything. We only cooked a breakfast and our last dinner there, because we were so anxious to try all the nearby restaurants, which were terrific. Devils Backbone, Wild Wolf and Basic Necessities all proved winners. While the property lists as wheelchair accessible, the main level of the house is totally accessible as is the main shower, which was large enough, not only for us, but for our daughters shower chair. Nice plus. There was not a ramp from garage to main house or front entrance, but we are sending links to them to add a small ramp like we have at home to accommodate any wheelchair. That's just how caring these owners are. We really felt quite at home and even though the stinkbugs were in abundance, we still hung out on the hammock in the screened gazebo several times. Our daughter even used her stander on the open deck as the weather could not have been more perfect the entire time. The hot tub is a nice addition especially to caregivers who are constantly lifting a heavy 9 year old. The master bedroom and bath are perfect and secluded and this guest loved the heated tile floor in the bathroom. Our au pair stayed in the studio with our well behaved shepherd who would scare off anyone especially the pizza delivery guy. The house is midway up the mountain with a great view of peaks from several deck areas. even the studio has it's own private deck. Your dog can be contained in the multi-deck area as well. Too bad the leaves had not changed at this time, but overall, it didn't matter. the trip was a huge success and the scenery was gorgeous. You are about 10 minutes from all the restaurants in Nellysford so you needn't drive far for delicious food. Or if you like to cook, you will have everything you need in the way of cutlery, pans and spices. One more thing I liked is the abundance of towels for humans as well as 4 legged friends. Thank you, again for your wonderful hospitality, Debra and Michael. Next time, we need a week.

Could Not Have Had Better …

Thank Debra for such a wonderful vacation. This was the first time that I have used Airbnb but Debra was extremely helpful throughout the process. The property was perfect in every aspect for our family and just as we expected from the description. Its location is good although the weather was not great for us that didn't cause us any problems as the views are breathtaking and everything inside was so comfortable. A perfect retreat to enjoy the company of loved ones. We could not have had better accommodation or host.

Debra … A Tremendous Host

We had such a great experience just last week at Five Peaks! My husband and I spent our honeymoon there and not only did we have a very comfortable stay at the house, we enjoyed the mountains, restaurants, cideries, and antique shops all in very close proximity to the house. Debra, as many have mentioned, is also a tremendous host. We are already planning our next trip!
Amy Raleigh, North Carolina - September 2015

A Beautiful Property In A Lovely Area…

Debra had the house in immaculate condition for our arrival, including a fully stocked kitchen and a refrigerator full of water, beverages, and craft beer from local breweries. The "Five Peaks manual" was sufficient for answering our most generic questions about the property, but Debra called before our arrival to make it clear she would be available by phone to address any want or need we had. This is a beautiful property in a lovely area...would definite stay here again!
Emily Williamsburg, Virginia - September 2015

Beautiful And Well Appointed

We had a great few days at Five Peaks. The house is beautiful and well appointed. It is in a woodsy location within the Wintergreen Resort but felt very uncrowded and private. We enjoyed the great kitchen and made homemade tortellini with the pasta machine, as well as apple pie from apples we got at a local orchard. Lots of kitchen essentials were provided. The location was very convenient for breweries, wineries, and trail hiking. Basic Necessities had really nice wines, cheese, bread, and chocolate. Next time we would bring groceries with us from a more upscale grocery but the Food Lion in Lovingston was fine. Debra and Michael were very helpful and came out to the house when we couldn't figure out the TV setup.
Ann College Park, Maryland - September 2015

Lovely, Quiet And Secluded

Lovely, quiet and secluded neighborhood. Wonderful host who left us champagne to celebrate our wedding. Great house with hot tub, gazebo, grill, and fully stocked kitchen made this quite an enjoyable experience.
Karl Washington, D.C. - September 2015

The King Bed Was … The Best

We will be back again soon. My wife and our daughter and grandson had a wonderful vacation while staying at this home. All the amenities and features are just as listed. The host was very friendly and responsive and timely. The King bed was one of the best I have slept in. What was also especially nice was staying mid level on the mountain, just a short distance and drive from all the action down below. Our granddog, Kirby, was also right at home with us enjoying nature and seeing some new critters in the area.

Flooded With Natural Light

We had a lovely, relaxing weekend at Five Peaks. The area is so incredibly quiet, though you have houses up and down the hilly roads. We just walked up and down those slopes, seeing deer and letting our city dog, Scout, embrace her hound dog roots! The gazebo and the deck are perfect for lounging during all types of weather. We actually enjoyed a thunderstorm in the gazebo one afternoon -- such a relaxing experience. The home is immaculate -- clean, up-to-date, flooded with natural light. The kitchen is huge and full of everything that you need. We cooked a big dinner and enjoyed many cups of coffee (and many glasses of wine!). We were able to grab all our groceries near Charlottesville and that worked just fine. I also recommend grabbing dinners down at the few places near the bottom of the hill -- it's easier than trying to figure out something for delivery. Those places (they are literally less than 10 minutes away) are solid and just what you need. We enjoyed the huge patio at Blue Mountain Brewing as well -- perfect for viewing the scenery (and sitting with the dog!). Thanks for a great weekend away from DC. We hope we are lucky enough to return!!

Exactly As Described … Owners Were Wonderful

This property was exactly as described regarding location, layout and amenities. It was well-maintained and clean. The owners were wonderful in providing customer service. They not only answered my questions promptly but left detailed instructions on how to handle things that related to the operation of the home. Provided brochures on local and surrounding events and things to do. One of my favorite places to eat was Devil's Backbone Brewery and Restaurant - outstanding!! We rode the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Line, entries to both places were very close to our location. Lastly, our hosts went out of their way to provide not only local cider and beers, but mineral water, half and half, bottled water, coffee, etc.
Mary O. Homeaway Guest - August 2015

A Phenomenal Host!

Debra was a phenomenal host and the home and location were perfect. We needed a getaway and wanted to be able to visit local breweries and wineries. Deb's home provided a beautiful mountain view for coffee in the mornings and proximity to lots of local venues. A wonderful time and would definitely stay again!
David Washington, D.C. - August 2015

Five Peaks Is Great!

Our girls' weekend at Five Peaks was fantastic! Debra has a beautiful home and made everything easy and comfortable. There was plenty of room and all the comforts of home. The kitchen is well stocked with basics and cookware/dishes/etc. She even had some local brews in the fridge for us to enjoy. The patio and gazebo were especially nice for morning coffee and conversation. The hammock in the gazebo was perfect for an afternoon nap. We have already been talking about coming back for another girls' weekend - Five Peaks is great!
Liz Bristow, Virginia - August 2015

The Kitchen Is A Foodie’s Dream!

Debra was available every step of the way and her house is amazing. The kitchen is a foodie's dream, the view off the deck is beautiful, the enclosed gazebo with hammock was so relaxing, the hot tub very refreshing and the surrounding area offered a variety of things to do. The house is well-stocked with kitchen essentials (spices, herbs, sugar, flour, etc.) as well as pots, pans, utensils and more unique tools like a mortar and pestle and kitchenaid. The deck was great for a group dinner and then after-dinner drinks in the dining room where we played cards and games. The beds and rooms were very comfy for our group of 5 and two dogs. The house even offered water bowls and with the deck completely fenced in it was perfect to let the pups roam. We did check out the nearby Flying Fox winery, lake Sherando and the Devils Backbone brewery. The brewery was fantastic, the winery was pretty good (viognier was nice, everything else was just ok), but we had an experience at the lake. Dogs aren't welcome in the beach area so we bummed around the picnic tables and then went for a little hike where we found a rather secluded swimming hole. While it was very picturesque, the water was pretty disgusting and all 5 of us and the 2 dogs came out of the water covered in a gross filmy substance. Maybe the designated beach area would've been fine but I've swam in dozens of lakes (grew up in MN) and never had this kind of thing happen to me before. So don't leave the beaten path, if you go to Sherando. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this house and this area. It's worth every penny!

A Beautiful Place, Inside And Out!

Debra had everything waiting we could ask for! What a beautiful place, inside and out. The view is amazing! The shower is amazing! The gazebo was cool and mosquito free for endless reading and relaxing. And we thoroughly relaxed because our dogs were with us, not left behind in the care of others. We will definitely be back - any season would be gorgeous at Five Peaks!

They Made Sure Everything Was Perfect For Us

Our hosts were wonderful. They made sure everything was perfect for us. The property and home was beautiful and looked just like the pictures on airbnb. The neighborhood was in a scenic mountain setting and all the area and homes were lovely and well kept. We highly recommend this home to others who are looking for a much-needed "get-a-way."

We Did Not Want To Leave This Wonderful Getaway

Judging by the reviews, we knew Debra was going to be a great host and the house was going to be spectacular. After experiencing the house and hospitality for ourselves, we have nothing but great things to say about Debra and this house. She welcomed us with flowers and champagne and a thank you note since this was our honeymoon vacation! She also had some local beer and ciders waiting for us in the fridge. Everything was clean and ready to go when we arrived. The description of the house she provides is spot on. Debra even helped us find some cool water holes during our stay. She kept in contact during our stay making sure everything was going well and if she could help out in any way. Yet, she was never disruptive in our vacation! We especially enjoyed the quiet neighborhood. Even though there are houses around, you feel perfectly secluded and alone as if you have the whole area to yourselves to sit outside and enjoy the views while reading on the hammock or eating a meal on the deck. The house is centrally located so that you have no chance of running out of things to do. The weather wasn't spectacular for the week we were there (cloudy at times and rain), but it didn't bother us in the least. We took advantage of hiking the Wintergreen Resort trails during a rain, and it added to the beauty of it all. All in all, we did not want to leave this wonderful getaway. We have already talked about coming back in the future for an anniversary. We have recommended this place to our friends, and we strongly recommend any who haven't rented this place to do so themselves.

Warm … Welcoming … Wonderful … Zen-Like … Gorgeous … Amazing!

Wow! I don't know where to start! This vacation property was recommended to us by our friends who had nothing but wonderful things to say about the home and the homeowners too. Booking was easy and Debra (the owner) not only went out of her way to accommodate us but also stayed in touch with us via email throughout the process. A few days before our arrival, we received a warm and welcoming email that included arrival directions and instructions and home "manual" with all the information you need to know to stay there. Debra also made a few suggestions as to what to do and where to eat, etc. We got there a few minutes early and actually met Debra. She took us through her wonderful house - a spacious kitchen with ALL the appliances and pantry staples you can think of, huge living room with entertainment center (Hulu, Netflix, DVDs and more) and dinning room, wonderfully equipped bathroom with walk-in shower (3 shower heads!!!) and a large bathtub as well as two sinks, another half bath, zen like master bedroom and a big loft bedroom too. That does not even begin to describe the gorgeous multi level porches, gazebo with a hammock, hot tub, and yard full of beautiful flowers and yummy berries!!! The view from the porches is nothing short of majestic, overlooking Wintergreen! She knew this was our honeymoon and that we were bringing our dog with us too, so Debra again went out of her way to make it special - she put out doggie sheets and towels and bowls and baggies and a tennis bowl and for us she had some fresh flowers, wine, and cheese! In other words, even if we never left the house, this vacation would still have been amazing. Before she left, Debra told us about berries we can pick and eat and what wineries and breweries to go to and where to eat dinner and what the most beautiful hiking places were. And she was correct in all of those. While at Five Peaks we visited 4 wineries, 3 breweries, and a distillery. We also hiked many local trails and went to visit Lake Sherando. Other than Sherando (which was at most 30 minutes away) all of the rest of the stuff was within 15 min or less driving time. On Saturday, we also went to the Farmers Market (again, thanks to the owners recommendation) and got local veggies and meat that we grilled at the house for dinner. We could not be happier with how everything was and cannot wait to stay there again!!!

Great Proximity To Vineyards And Breweries

Debra was an amazing host! We arrived shortly after check in time at 3pm and everything was ready to go, organized, clean and so spacious. I had trouble opening the lock box for the key (user error, instructions could not have been clearer) and she answered the phone right away and walked my though it. Our stay was just perfect, great proximity to local vineyards and breweries we have come to love. The outdoor screened in gazebo was AWESOME especially in the humid buggy summer season. We would love to come back and make this our regular stay in the Charlottesville area, thanks again Debra!

Everything Was Perfect

We could not have asked for a more welcoming and peaceful retreat. Everything - was perfect. True to the pics posted online - Debra had the whole house set up to rival luxury concierge service. A library of games and movies, direct Netflix, Hulu and more. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need including a variety of ice cold beverages. perfect for a quick summer getaway. A quick drive down the mountain put us in touch with nature - we hiked along a waterfall with our dogs. We had a great time - the dogs were spoiled rotten with ample space to play and rest. And the whole house was pristine. Wish we could have stayed much longer. We will be back!
Julie Alexandria, Virginia - June 2015

Not To Be Missed

The home was exactly as described; gorgeous and extremely accommodating. The hot tub was wonderful and the view is stellar. The elaborate shower, however, is the highlight of the home and is not to be missed. We had a very relaxing weekend and Debra was very thoughtful. Highly recommended.

Beautiful … Really Beautiful!

We absolutely loved staying at Five Peaks! The house was beautiful, I mean really beautiful! Every room was tastefully decorated and it was quite apparent that the home is well maintained. Debra was a great hostess as well as she made sure we were all set for our arrival. She also provided a sampling of local beers for us in addition to water, coffee, paper products, etc. Definitely a nice touch! We will most certainly be returning to Five Peaks!

Like Renting Paradise

Renting Five Peaks is like renting paradise. The house is beautifully situated in the woods, with the most amazing mountain views from the deck. Debra was a lovely host from the start, and made us feel incredibly welcomed and comfortable. Some of our favorite parts of our stay: exploring the local farmer's market, cooking delicious meals in the well-appointed chef's kitchen, eating at Oceanwide Seafood, hiking in the woods, sleeping in the loft (amazing to look up through the skylights - it's like sleeping in a treehouse!), and the truly pet friendly home (Debra left out a dog bed, bowls, and even a chew toy for our pup!). My wife and I also really enjoyed a day trip to Staunton, which is a charmingly artsy town where we got to watch a local glassblower at work, enjoy coffee from a local roaster, eat freshly made gelato at the Split Banana, explore a bunch of cute antique shops, and eat an AMAZING meal at Zynodoa... We also really appreciated the great TV & sound system - we enjoyed watching movies while lounging on the comfy couches. Oh - and I can't forget to mention how nice it is to read a book while stretched out on the hammock in the screened-in portion of the deck. Oh! Also, the huge shower with 3 shower heads and heated bathroom flooring... and the hot tub. So many fun memories!! Whether you feel like exploring the outdoors, or just kicking back at Five Peaks, you will be a happy camper.

Can’t Wait To Plan Another Trip To Five Peaks!

Five Peaks is amazing house with a gorgeous view. Debra had the house prepared for myself and fellow guests ahead of schedule and let us know. She is easily accessible by phone, email, etc... And was very easy to cooperative in terms of scheduling. She stocks the fridge with a small variety of local brews and ciders and suggests many local places for dining, shopping, etc.. Everything you can think of Debra already thought of it. I can't wait to plan another trip to Five Peaks in the future. A must for relaxation and serenity.
Kristine Fairfax, Virginia - May 2015

Beautiful. Peaceful. Quiet. Lovely. We Couldn’t Have Asked for More!

We loved our stay at Five Peaks! The photos in the listing are great, but the real thing is even better. Beautiful, peaceful, quiet surroundings. Lovely furnishings. Thoughtful touches throughout the house. We couldn't have asked for more. We especially loved the open layout on the first floor and the outdoor deck and gazebo, which included an awesome hammock. Debra went above and beyond to make us feel welcome with plenty of detailed information in advance, quick responses to questions and a thorough manual for the house. She even left us some bottled waters and local beers to enjoy! Definitely stop by the Nelson County Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. Highly recommend staying at Five Peaks!
Lauren Washinton, D.C. - May 2105

We Loved Everything!

We loved everything. We loved waking up, having breakfast in the gazebo, followed by a nap in the hammock. We enjoyed cooking and grilling. The hot tub was one feature that greatly added to our relaxation. The location of the house was secluded and private, which added to the experience.

Fantastic Host! Peaceful Serenity … Perfect Getaway for Any Couple or Family.

Debra was a fantastic host and the home was so gorgeous! My husband and I enjoyed the beauty of the mountain views and the peaceful serenity of the birds singing. This is a perfect getaway home for any couple or family.

Awesome Host. Quiet … Peaceful … Perfect!

Five Peaks had everything we needed to get out of the city for a few days to relax. Debra was an awesome host, leaving the place stocked with all the basics as well as some local beer, and plenty of information about the area. She responded quickly to any questions I had before our arrival, and was super nice in all of our correspondence. The house was exactly as it's described, quiet, peaceful and well-equipped. Perfect home base for some much-needed time hiking and running around outdoors. Can't wait to go back.

The Best Airbnb Experience So Far!

The best Airbnb experience so far! Absolutely divine location, beautiful house and wonderful hosts. We had a family reunion at Five Peaks and found the location to be perfect for all age groups - wineries and breweries, stunning scenery and an amazing kitchen for cooking and gathering to catch up at the end of the day. Debra and her husband provided all the details on the house and the surroundings that we needed in order to effortlessly plan our days. Fell in love with Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley.
Joan Northleach, England, U.K. - April 2015

Peace … Quiet … Perfect

My husband, chihuahua and I needed a little peace and quiet and this place was perfect. The kitchen is extremely well stocked along with some refreshments in the fridge! The hot tub was perfect and the view is beautiful. We loved the space and how much was available in the kitchen (We love to cook). Whether you are looking for some R&R or have a gang to bring down this place is perfect. They had some board games and a good selection of movies. We would have been completely entertained to stay at the house the entire time but we took advantage of all the great hiking in the area. Would definitely go back again!
Amy Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - April 2105

Perfect location! We loved everything about this place!

My husband and I had an amazing time at Five Peaks! The home is beautiful and Debra was very welcoming providing a bottle of prosecco to celebrate our Birthdays as well as some local beers, and other things we might need. We loved waking up to sit on the porch and taking in the breathtaking views. Debra was also super easy to get in touch with as we ran out of gas for the grill on the first night. She made a trip out the next day and it was refilled by the afternoon. We also loved that we were able to bring our two short legged jacks (Pinot & Barley) who loved sunning on the deck. The location is great as we were able to visit a couple wineries and breweries during the day. Perfect location! We loved everything about this place. We had so much fun, and hope to return in the future.
Laura Washington, D.C. - April 2015

Very Attractive and Comfy … Great Fireplace on a Rainy Evening!

My family stayed at this lovely home for 5 nights in the early spring to celebrate a special birthday. The set up worked well for us even with two babies. The home is very attractive and comfy. We particularly enjoyed the great fireplace on a rainy evening. Although we never met, Debra was very helpful in finding out information for us and checking to make sure we had all that we needed. I would highly recommend a stay at Five Peaks and may well return again.

GORGEOUS! Impeccably Clean … Thoughtful … Helpful … A Truly Wonderful And Comfortable Experience.

What a wonderful experience. Debra was quick to answer any and all questions I had, and was very helpful, thoughtful, and caring during the entire process. The place was GORGEOUS, impeccably clean, and wonderfully home. Debra event built a starter fire for me so that as soon as I got in, I was able to just light a match and relax. A truly wonderful and comfortable experience, I cannot wait to return to this gorgeous house in such a beautiful setting. PS: GREATEST SHOWER EVER! The only downfall is that I wanted to stay in the 3 headed shower for ever. PPS: GREATEST PILLOWS EVER! It was like sleeping in a cloud. Every comfort of home without any of the hassle or responsibility.

Our Expectations Were Exceeded !

This place is amazing. They have set everything up so thoughtfully so guests can have a perfect time. The kids were excited by everything from the hammock to the hot tub and just the cool set up of the place. This is one of the most thoughtfully designed living spaces I've ever been in. We were very optimistic before we arrived, and then our expectations were exceeded ! The entertainment system was slick, DVDs collection, view, drawer of games kept us relaxed and entertained. We didn't want to leave!

This is a gorgeous, spacious house in Wintergreen, conveniently located to lots of places in central VA, including Charlottesville. The house was clean and well-stocked, and Debra was a great, gracious, accommodating host. We had some questions and she was responsive and answered them immediately! Perfect Service And Perfect Atmosphere For a Memorable Vacation!

The lovely Five Peaks at Wintergreen home was the perfect location for a mini-vacation for our family. We claimed the beautiful master bedroom in the main house as ours (complete with HEATED bathroom floors and a huge shower with 3 shower heads); the loft was perfect for our 17 year old son; and the downstairs studio provided a private, spacious suite for our son and daughter-in-law. Although there are many excellent restaurants in the area, we enjoyed making home-cooked meals in the large, fully-equipped kitchen and on the gas grill. The communication from Debra prior to and during our visit was excellent. In the days leading up to the vacation, she sent a complete guide to checking into the house, along with information about activities and locations in the area. She answered any questions we had promptly. We were lucky enough to enjoy a gorgeous, hefty snowfall while visiting, and she arranged for the driveway to be cleared as soon as the snow stopped falling. The hospitality awaiting at the house is unsurpassed! The hosts have thought of virtually everything to make a visit pleasant and easy. All the linens, towels (including towels to wipe down wet dogs!), and paper products are supplied. We arrived to find a fire already built in the fireplace just waiting to be lit, fresh ground coffee, and a refrigerator stocked with water and a selection of local beer! Instructions for how to use the TV and hot-tub were clear and very easy to follow. Books, games and puzzles, a dog bed, dog bowls--all provided in the home! The home sits in the beautiful Stony Creek development in Nellysford. It is literally only minutes from golf, breweries, wineries, hiking trails and shopping. One can get to the top of Wintergreen Mountain from the house in less than 20 minutes. We are looking forward to going back there in the summer to enjoy warm weather activities and to spend more time in the gazebo and on the hammock! It is important to note the the downstairs master suite is an "urban studio," which means there is no indoor access to that bedroom. There is an outdoor staircase leading to that room. The stairs may be difficult for those with mobility issues to navigate and can be slippery in the winter. That being said, the studio provides a fantastic view of the mountains--as does the main house--and has its own deck. The hosts, Debra and Michael, strive to provide perfect service and a perfect atmosphere for a memorable vacation.

Couldn’t Have Asked For a Better Experience!

We had an excellent couple of days! Debra is a wonderful hostess. She provides lots of little extras, like local beers and has wood ready in the fireplace and nice hot clean water in the hot tub. The house is BEAUTIFUL and very clean. The kitchen is awesome and well-stocked. Debra was also concerned about an impending snowstorm and offered us cancellation and returning another time, which we appreciated. Thankfully we arrived prior to the snowfall and all remained well :) We couldn't have asked for a better Air bnb experience!
Vicki Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - February 2015

Generosity, Positivity, and Care!

We spent a long weekend at Five Peaks to celebrate our marriage. Debra provided us with a few thoughtful gifts to congratulate us. Her level of generosity, positivity, and care was clear throughout our stay. The house was more beautiful than the pictures. The location is perfect for an isolated getaway or for access to great restaurants, hiking, wineries, breweries, and people. We kept thinking that if we knew Debra and Mike personally we'd probably be friends with them!

This House Was Awesome!

This house was awesome! We went to Wintergreen for a ski weekend and this house was great for us. Debra is a wonderful host! She was very communicative before, during, and after our stay. Goes the Extra Mile

This was our second time staying at Five Peaks, and we loved it. The house is great, and Debra is an amazing host. She always goes the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect. It is close to the slopes at Wintergreen, which is wonderful. We hope to go back again next year.

Five Peaks Is Certainly An Airbnb GEM!

Debra was an amazing host from start to finish. She was very responsive and over communicated prior and during our trip. The instructions were more than complete and detailed. Five Peaks far exceeded our expectations. The cabin is conveniently situated to the Wintergreen resort. The cabin itself was fully stocked and absolutely beautiful. Five Peaks is certainly an airbnb GEM! Thanks again Debra! We will be back!

Truly An Escape … Very Cozy

Debra has such a beautiful home! This place is truly an escape in the mountains. It's very cozy. We made a fire both nights of our stay and sat by the fire with wine from some of the local vineyards. It was beautiful in the winter, and I'm sure it is just as beautiful in the summer time! We're hoping to return soon!
Devon Charlottesville, Virginia - January 2015

Gorgeous … Everything We Needed

The house was gorgeous (I meant to say impressive), clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed a very relaxing and fun week end. The communication with the host was very good. We already recommended this listing to some of our friends.

The Most Welcoming Of Them All

I've stayed in a few home rentals and this was the most welcoming of them all. Debra really went out of her way to make the home very warm, welcoming, and organized. As an elementary teacher, her detailed instructions, organized binders, labeled drawers, etc. were a welcome sight! We will definitely be returning, should we find ourselves in that neck of the woods again. Thanks Debra!

One Of The Best

Wonderful, private location. Amazingly stocked kitchen - we had everything we needed to cook the entire time we stayed. Debra was very accommodating and easy to reach. Beautiful views from the main living room made sunrises photograph-worthy. We have rented several vacation homes before and this one was one of the best ones we've stayed in.

A Perfect Mountain Retreat

Debra is a wonderful host and her home is a perfect mountain retreat. Debra was very accommodating and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Wonderful House … They’ve Set A High Bar

Staying at Five Peaks was a great choice. The house was beautifully set up for our arrival and the little touches were greatly appreciated. Debra and Michael have thought of everything; the welcome documentation was very detailed and contained very useful information. This, plus the wonderful house, made for a great weekend. Being that this is our first stint with AirBNB, I feel sorry for all the other hosts following Debra and Michael. They've set a high bar.

You Can Completely Relax

Debra was a great communicator. She emailed and called before our arrival to let us know about local grocers, restaurants, and activities. She also set up the fireplace for us so we could immediately enjoy the space. Five Peaks at Wintergreen is immaculate. The natural light is abundant, the cook's kitchen has everything you need, and the hot tub is perfect for two. This is a place where you can completely relax and enjoy all the amenities. Can't wait to get back!

When AirBNB Was Founded, I Imagine They Dreamed Of Hosts Like Debra

Debra was perfectly communicative, welcoming and helpful. We arrived a bit late on a Friday evening and were surprised with an assortment of local beers! Great touch! The house is amazing. Everything we wanted and more. The neighborhood is gorgeous, and you don't have to venture out too far to find some hiking, breweries, wineries, all sorts of fun stuff. We were a group of 6 and felt totally comfortable. I'm trying to go back once it snows (ski resort nearby!). When airbnb was founded, I imagine they dreamed of hosts like Debra. Thank you!

Five Peaks … Something I’ll Need In My Life Again

Five Peaks was just stunning. The home has a perfect layout for group/family gatherings, cooking dinner, playing games, watching movies, sitting by the fire, enjoying the view of the mountains together. If you want to get out of the house, everything is at your fingertips from the Wintergreen resort to great breweries, ciders, wineries and Charlottesville is just up the road. Everything is well decorated and spotlessly clean. Really though, the best part isn't the space itself but Debra, the hostess. She has really thought of everything to make your stay more enjoyable and stress free. Firewood available, coffee filters/creamer/variety of sweeteners, a fully stocked kitchen, extra blankets and towels, dog bowls/beds/towels, it goes on. She has a guide to the home and area for you filled with helpful tips and recommendations. Communication with her was a breeze - she provided answers to questions before I knew I would need to ask. Her website for the property is also filled with helpful information to make it even easier for you. We will definitely return! Waking up to a pink sunrise over the mountain peaks is something I'll need in my life again.
Melanie McLean, Virginia - November 2014

Beautiful Views From Every Room

Debra was one of the best hosts I've had. She was super responsive both prior and throughout our stay. She ensured the house was stocked with essentials and then some. The house itself is amazing. Beautiful views from every room. My favorite feature was definitely the huge hammock in the screened in gazebo. We loved laying out there and watching the storm come in.
Kaitlin Washington, District of Columbia - November 2014

Everything We Needed

I stayed here with family while visiting for a wedding, and we really enjoyed the house. The pictures very accurately portray the place. It feels secluded, has a great view and the inside is nice and very clean. Debra was very thorough in her communication. The house had everything we needed for our short stay and the details weren't overlooked. I was especially glad that coffee and half & half were stocked already -- we didn't even need to run any errands for anything. I just wish we would have had a little more time to linger and relax.

We Thoroughly Enjoyed Our Stay

Susan and I needed a well deserved break as we work together. We found Five Peaks as we were looking at Nelly's Ford as an old friend formerly resided there and recommended the area. Once we entered Five Peaks we knew we located a great home for our well deserved vacation. The master bedroom was perfect with the king size bed and ample room to spread out. The kitchen was spacious and had all the appliances one could need. The family room and dining area gave us a place to hang out and be together, allowing us to relax and unwind as it was two years since our last vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Five Peaks and look forward to returning. The Nelly's Ford area is also beautiful with mountain views second to none and the proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway, with magnificent views are unforgettable. The best feature we were able to bring our Basset Hound Holly without question by our host. In my mind I am planning our next visit. Thank you Debra for this great opportunity to vacation at Five Peaks.
Patrick & Susan Denver, North Carolina - October 2014

Everything You Could Possibly Need

What a great long weekend at Five Peaks. We were in town for a wedding but didn't want to leave the house we loved it that much. Debra was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our trip. The house was amazing. It was beautifully decorated and stocked with everything you could possibly need. The view from the deck was gorgeous, the screened in gazebo with hammock was relaxing, and the beds were so comfortable. The heated bathroom floor was great on a chilly morning. The kitchen... a cooks dream. This was by far the hardest place to leave and I can not wait to get back for another visit.

Loved It!

Great house ! Great view, very peaceful! It was great to experience the farmers market at the entrance of the community, we bought a lot of delicious food! Would definitely come back to stay in this beautiful home! The host even stocked us with some local beer, which was a nice touch:). Very close to some great vineyards, brewery's, and great restaurants! Loved it!

Incredibly Responsive

Debra was incredibly responsive at every step of this process. She sent timely information that made this rental very easy. She sent excellent driving directions as well as house directions. In addition she furnished the house with tons of helpful items like toilet paper, soap and even lot of kitchen basics. The house is luxuriously designed and furnished beautifully and comfortably. We couldn't have had a more pleasant and enjoyable stay.
Elizabeth Durham, North Carolina - September 2014

Spacious Rooms, Comfortable Beds

Debra went above and beyond to help us out and accommodate us after our original rental was cancelled. Having been familiar with the area I chose the house based off of location and accommodations for my party. The house is tucked away privately inside a golf club and community. The area is gorgeous as well as the house. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds and many other host provided perks to make our stay that much more comfortable. Would definitely come back next year and stay there for the same festival.
Jonathan Long Island, New York - September 2014

The House has a Wonderful Energy

Our family had a wonderful experience at Five Peaks this past weekend. The house was immaculate, spacious, and perfectly as described. Beds and linens were very comfortable and the hot tub and hammock were a real treat. There were so many "extra's"......Our hosts were very accommodating and even allowed us to pick vegetables and herbs from their garden. The library was available to us and we spent hours reading and napping on the double hammock in the screened gazebo. The house has a wonderful energy and we loved sitting on the porch overlooking the beautiful view. It was hard to leave this special place and we will definitely be back. The location is very convenient to local breweries, vineyards, and nature hikes.
Anita Arlington, Virginia - September 2014

Another Great Stay at Five Peaks

We had another great stay at Five Peaks this past weekend. We cannot recommend this house enough. Gazebo area with the hammock is my favorite. Can't wait until winter to come back and use the hot tub and fireplace. Thanks again Debra!
John Fredericksburg, Virginia - August 2014

Magnificent! We LOVE Five Peaks, and Debra - who we were fortunate enough to meet before leaving. The house is gorgeous. The surroundings are amazing. The amenities are not lacking in any way. The vegetable garden was producing tomatoes and basil and peppers and other herbs. We were not shy in eating every ripe tomato we could find...nor in drinking all the local brewery beer left for us in the fridge. Our family thanks you for a wonderful and much needed vacation! We will be back.
Pamela Virginia Beach, Virginia - August 2014

Better than Expected!

The house was even better than expected! We were four adults and a 3.5 y/o. Five Peaks was beautifully decorated, spacious and very, very well supplied. Debra very kindly left beer, mineral water, coffee and a whole host of foodstuffs – we could even pick the delicious cherry tomatoes from the garden! Debra is an excellent host and put in a lot of effort to make us feel at home. We had the house and studio and were very pleased with the accommodations. The master bathroom shower is gorgeous and the heated floor was nice touch even in August. The studio suite offered additional privacy, had a lovely view with it’s own little deck. The bed was amazingly comfortable, linens nice, and plenty of blankets and towels. The screened-in gazebo was fantastic and we enjoyed relaxing there in the evening. I would most definitely stay at Five Peaks again, and highly recommend both the house and Debra!

Gorgeous House, Brilliant Surroundings

This place is amazing. Gorgeous house, brilliant surroundings and Debra is an exceptional hostess. We came down to visit Charlottesville and to do some wine tasting and this place pulled it all together. The kitchen is excellent for cooking for a group of friends and everything was perfectly tee'd up for us when we got there. Debra was friendly, helpful and communicative. I can't say enough good things.

Thrilled With Our Choice

What a great three days we had at Five Peaks! We needed a few days out of the city to relax and rejuvenate and were thrilled with our choice. The home is truly private but close enough to local life to enjoy some great meals out (not that we couldn't prepare on site as the kitchen is fully equipped with everything imaginable). The deck and the view were definite highlights as we had breakfast there each morning. The best feature has to be the shower room - spectacular! And let's not forget the private hot tub under the stars. We loved the Roku entertainment system and took advantage of the herb and vegetable garden as well. What a nice touch when the owner left us plenty of bottled water when we shared that we weren't drinkers. From all perspectives it couldn't have been nicer.

Made Us Feel Right at Home

The house was everything we expected and more from the reviews and the pictures. We were welcomed by a couple of bottles of wine, some bottled water and half 'n half, along with some wonderful coffee. The house is warm, inviting and very tastefully decorated. Made us feel right at home. We were there for a girl's weekend, our 80 yr old mom and her 3 daughters. It was the perfect venue for our mom, with the bedroom on the main floor. The only complaint we had is that the trip wasn't long enough. We would have loved to spend more time at the house itself. It is such a peaceful place and the view on the back desk is spectacular. Would definitely recommend this home to others and will be back in the future.

Over the Top With Their Hospitality

The pictures and description don't do this place justice! Five peaks is a dream home with all the amenities anyone could ever need. Not only is the home spectacular, but it is packed full of little things you always tend to forget you need on vacation. Coffee filters, spices, tons of cooking utensils, sharp knives, towels, bug spray, lotion, tooth paste, you name it... they even left us an assortment of the local beers to try out! Debra and Michael went over the top with their hospitality. They were always a quick call away and we never felt like a bother. The neighborhood and the drive up to the home was gorgeous as well. We felt as though we were in a luxurious tree house. Can't wait to come back with the whole family next time! Much love, Emily & Joel

A Beautiful Place to Stay

This is a beautiful place to stay in Southern Virginia. I totally recommend you stay with Debra and Mike if you have the chance. The apartment is enormous and comfortably slept my wife and our 2 month old son, my brother and his wife and daughter and my parents. We didn't even really feel like we were in the same house! The surrounding neighborhood is packed with fun things to do, a nearby lake to swim, Charlottesville for shopping and dining (try "The Local"), and more breweries than you could possibly need. Thanks Debra for letting us use your wonderful home.

By Far Blew Others Away

We have rented several times in Wintergreen but this by far blew others away. The location and views were breathtaking the house itself is gorgeous but most of all the host Debra goes above and beyond out of her way for her guests. We will never look again for another place after staying here we will be back again for sure

Amazing Full Equipped Kitchen

Debra is very comprehensive, helpful and leave privacy. The house is very clean and absolutely fabulous: well furnished, amazing full equipped kitchen, nice view, wonderful hot tube with nature around, wonderful gazebo mosquito-free with hammock: we found everything perfect. Debra translated in French her house handbook: nice attention ! Bravo, Debra, excellent accueil et très belle maison bien pensée: on a adoré et on conseille vivement !

I Wish We Were There Still

My fiance and I spent 4th of July weekend in this extraordinary home with four friends and our two dogs. From the moment I made the reservation, the owner was more than helpful in answering questions and making suggestions to help enhance our trip. Debra even allowed us to check-in a night early due to the extreme storms that were due to arrive on our orginal check-in date. She is the epitome of what a host should be. As we arrived, we found the house to be just as gorgeous in person as it is in the pictures. The kitchen is huge with everything you could possibly need. All the bedrooms were lovely, especially the master with the private deck and hot tub. Ending each evening in the hot tub staring at the stars was absolutely wonderful. The master bath is also extremely luxurious with the heated floors and three head walk in shower. The living area was so amazing with the stone fireplace that goes all the way to the ceiling and floor to ceiling windows. When you walk through the front door it will take your breath away. The deck is incredible. It is nice and large with a beautiful table/umbrella that was able to accomodate our large party. The view of the mountains is to die for. There is a side garden, with all sorts of herbs and veggies. There is a circular screened in porch with a hammock. It even has a doggie door!! We spent most of our nights in there. The owners had left us two bottles of wine and Devil's Backbone Brewery beers, which tickled my fiance because he is a big craft beer guy. The dogs were even welcomed with a soft plush doggie bed and bowls. Our first morning we were lucky enough to have a 72 degree breezy sunny day. I awoke and opened the french doors and opened some of their beautiful large windows. Walking into the exquisite living area with the cool breeze blowing through the house was unforgettable. That first day my fiance and I just enjoyed the house. The house is extremely doggie friendly and our pups loved being able to just roam around. Once our friends arrived, they also were taken aback by how stunning the house is. Our guests were more than comfortable in the large marvelous studio with deck and the upstairs loft. We spent our days swimming in the two local lakes and swimming pools. We went to the fireworks at Wintergreen Resort, checked out some of the local breweries, and went to the farmers market, which were all great. In the evenings, we'd grill and just relax on the spectacular deck. Overall , our trip was unforgettable. Just writing this and thinking about all the fun we had through the weekend gives me the warm and fuzzies. I wish we were there still. We are already planning our next trip. Thank you Debra and Michael again for EVERYTHING!!!!!! ;)

We Did So Much Over The 5 Days

We had a lovely time at Five Peaks, we can't thank Debra enough for her hospitality. We did so much over the 5 days! We hiked a trail to the rock slides (in the resort), hung out at the pool with lovely mountain views. My husband golfed with the free pass, and signed up for a great tennis clinic. We made lovely herb scrambled eggs one morning and also have a chance to pick a few blueberries and raspberries too, all from the attached garden. We went to Charlottesville for the day and walked around, went to the kid's museum and rode the free trolley. My four year old son was so excited about pretty much everything at Five Peaks that he wanted to stay "forever"! I highly recommend Five Peaks.

Above And Beyond

Debra went above and beyond as a host, leaving detailed directions in the house and responding to e-mails regarding activities in the area. We made the trek to Paul's Creek Waterslide and would definitely recommend it to anyone staying at Five Peaks! Debra was highly communicative -- I would definitely stay at Five Peaks again!

Far Better Than Any We Have Ever Rented

We have gone to Wintergreen at least twice a year for several years. In the past we have rented private condos or houses in the mountain resort .Staying in the valley at Stoney Creek has it's advantages. Although not as cool a temperature as on the mountain, the convenience of getting to the shops, breweries, cideries, etc., makes it a good option. There are also some fun hikes at Stoney Creek. Five Peaks is very well represented by the photos, very clean and modern. The house was far better than any we have ever rented previously, and for similar pricing. I think other Wintergreen property owners could learn a few things from these owners..i.e., .provide clean up-to-date and quality furnishings, deluxe beds and linens, allow dogs, and the guests will come ! The hosts were very responsive and helpful with questions . We hope to stay there again.

Beautiful Area with So Much to Do

We had a lovely stay in your beautiful home while in Virginia for my step-daughter's graduation from U.V.A. What a beautiful area with so much to do. We went hiking off of Skyline Drive as well as horseback riding at Meechum Trails!! We also visited Pollack Vineyards which had a gorgeous view all around. Thank you for your generosity and a wonderful stay!

Gracious and Accommodating

Debra and Michael have a truly wonderful home. The open a-frame style made the home seem palatial. The outdoor gazebo area was screened in and we spent a great deal of time enjoying it. We would definitely stay again. They are gracious and accommodating in every sense of the word.

We Were Blown Away

Let me just say that we were blown away by the beauty of the house and the thoughtfulness of our host. We arrived for my husbands graduation and appreciated every extra that Debra provided. From the little things like the fridge having fresh coffee beans and creamer to Debra having wine, cheese and crackers for a celebration of my husbands accomplishments. The house is AMAZING and we were very pleased with everything. The surrounding area is phenonopmal and we wished we had more time to explore the town. Debra had a list of local sites and brochures for us set out and sent us ahead of time an email with information about local restruants, grocery stores and more and it is greatly appreciate. Debra also went the extra mile and shipped me something I left at the house the very next day since it was time sensative and for that I will be forever grateful. We would love to visit again should our schedule and Five Peaks align. Thank you for such a wonderful trip.

Luxurious Mountain House

A luxurious mountain house with beautiful views. It contains everything you need for a fun and relaxing stay. We especially enjoyed the screened-in gazebo with a comfy hammock, lounging in the hot tub and cooking in the fully-stocked kitchen. The hosts were incredibly gracious, and the house was impeccably clean. They provided excellent tips about the house amenities and surrounding attractions. There are so many things to do within an hours' drive of this location (skiing, hiking, winery, brewery and orchard visits, antique shopping, historic sites). We didn't have time to get to it all, so we will definitely be back!

Truly Memorable

Debra was an incredible host and made every effort to make the stay a truly memorable one. From the moment of arrival to the minute we closed the doors it was a memorable experience and we will likely be coming back to Nellysford!

Perfect Setting

With easy access to Staunton, Charlottesville, and the surrounding vineyards, Five Peaks offers the perfect setting for a group vacation. The owners go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, and the home is absolutely spotless. The pride of ownership is quite evident, and they have really thought of everything you might require for an extended stay.
Marc Reistertown, Maryland - April 2014

Comfortable and Easy Space

Extremely comfortable and easy space to entertain and relax with a diverse group of family and friends for the weekend. Amazing combination of shared and private indoor and outdoor spaces made this spot the ideal location for reconnecting and sharing good food, wine, and conversation. Debra was extremely responsive and accommodating at every step of of the stay and the home was so well equipped it felt like I was staying at a family member's home. If you are ever looking for a place to stay that is close to Charlottesville and not so far from Richmond where you can pamper yourself and those you love in style and comfort, look no further than Five Peaks. I hope to have the opportunity to visit again in the fall!
Kelly Vinton, VA - March 2014

My girlfriends and I stayed at Five Peaks for a bachelorette party (spa vacation at wintergreen spa). We rented the main house and studio. This rental was amazing! Positives: 1. The kitchen had all of the amenities that someone would need (including spices, oil, pots, pans, utensils, plates, serving bowls, etc). 2. The master bedroom was a king bed that fit 3 of us girls. 3. The owner placed two mattresses in the studio for us which were extremely comfortable plus there was a bed in the studio. 4. The couch was comfortable and faced the flat screen tv. 5. There were 2 bathroom with a half bath. The plumbing and water pressure was great (even with 6 girls using the bathroom and showering). The master bathroom even had heated floors. The house is about 20 minutes from the wintergreen resort BUT you drive past breweries and the wintergreen winery to get to the resort. We ate at Devils Backbone Brewery and the food was great. 5 out of 6 of us enjoyed the food. One of my friends got the sweet potato burger which she was not too fond of. Overall, the house was gorgeous and had plenty of space for everyone. The owner also left us a bottle of wine, 2 packages of gourmet cheese, and 2 bottles of sparkling water.

Lovely Place!

We had a great weekend! Loved sitting under the stars in the hot tub and early mornings on the patio. Thanks for such a lovely place!

Attentive to Every Detail

Couldn't have asked for a nicer host. Debra was extremely attentive with every detail. Upon arriving she surprised us with a bottle of wine, cheese and crackers. Photos are of the home are 100% accurate however, the true beauty lies in experiencing it for yourself. Can't wait to be able to get the time to visit Charlottesville and this home again.

Under Three Hours from DC

Debra's home is the perfect getaway for those searching for an escape from the hustle and bustle that is the DC metro area. Under three hours from DC, Debra's home is located on a quiet, wood street on the side of a mountain - in the neighborhood, we encountered more deer during our stay than people! The home is extremely clean and has everything you need. We enjoyed breakfast each morning on the deck (with a fabulous gazebo and hammock) and watched the sun rise over the valley. The hot tub was also put to good use on those chillier evenings. There are cideries, breweries, and vineyards nearby and the village of Nellsyford has everything you would need i.e. liquor, food. It's proximity to Wintergreen Resort talked us into spending a day tubing on the mountain. All in all, a relaxing retreat. My friends and I are already look for another reason to venture down to visit this home again!

Great for Couples and Groups!

Debra's home is as amazing as she is. It's the perfect getaway for all seasons and reasons - we loved cozying up by the fire after skiing at Wintergreen, but can't wait to return to journey through more hiking trails and wineries/breweries. Great for couples and groups! The gorgeous photos of Five Peaks don't do it justice though - go see for yourself (except for when we're back visiting)!

Absolutely Gorgeous

Debra's home was absolutely gorgeous, and she was a wonderful host. She was available 24/7 with any questions, although we didn't have any major ones because she did such a great job of getting all of the information to us beforehand. My partner and I had a blast cooking in the well-stocked kitchen, hiking with our puppy, going to Devil's Backbone Brewery (highly recommended), and just enjoying the scenery from the house, the screened-in porch on the hammock, and outside in the snow. We can't wait to plan our next trip to Five Peaks. Thanks, Debra!

Absolutely Wonderful

Our stay at Five Peaks was absolutely wonderful. Debra was one of the best hosts we've ever had. We felt so special when we came in and we saw the wine, cheese, crackers, diet coke (for my husband because he doesn't drink), and coke and sprite for my college age son and his friends. The house and studio were perfect for my husband and I, and my son and his friends. They did their thing, and we did ours. The master bedroom is the most romantic getaway I've ever been to. It had a hot tub right outside of it on a balcony with a beautiful view, and the living area was awesome. It had the this massive stone fireplace that also had a beautiful view. Debra has a kitchen that is stocked better than my own kitchen, which is saying a lot. She has anything you could ever need, and if it's not there, she encourages you to let her know so she can add it for the next time. Again, Debra is the best host I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with, and her house is wonderful. I would highly recommend staying at Five Peaks. We are going to try and make this an annual thing. Thanks, Debra.

Very Well Stocked Kitchen

My boyfriend and I took a long weekend in western VA at this wonderful house in Nellysford. The drive was about 2.5 hours, and we arrived to find some delicious evening and breakfast treats waiting for us, hot tub at optimal temperature, as well as a fireplace with wood ready to be lit and books about hiking in the area as well. The house is really tucked away from others so that it feels very private and secluded. I loved laying on the hammock with a good book on the screened-in porch, and my boyfriend got busy in the very well-stocked kitchen--spices, knives of every variety, all kinds of kitchen aids, etc., made it easy to just buy some meat, potatoes, and other basic stuff at the nearby market and make a delicious meal. We're definitely looking forward to our next trip back.
Erika Washington, D.C. - January 2014

Luxurious Amenities

Had a wonderful weekend. The fireplace was well used and kept us warm during a brief power outage. Really enjoyed all the extras and special touches (wine and coffee) and luxurious amenities. Will definitely return regardless of season.

Beautiful House in the Mountains

Had a wonderful 3 nights at this beautiful house in the mountains. Enjoyed wine and cheese upon arrival while hanging out by the fireplace. The house looked to be newly renovated so there were a lot of small details that I really enjoyed. The house is very close to Wintergreen Resort as well as all the wineries and breweries Nelson county has to offer. Would definitely recommend this place as a couples retreat or with your family. We were able to bring our dogs so we could take them hiking with us up Skyline Drive. I think this may be a yearly getaway for us and we look forward to staying here again!
David Richmond, VA - January 2014

Tucked into the Treetops

This house made us feel right at home. The house is bright and airy and almost tucked into the treetops. Away from it all, but so close to Wintergreen and the wine trail. It had every amenity we needed plus some. The master suite with the hot tub right off the bedroom was luxurious and the walk-in shower made you feel like you were at a spa. Having coffee on the deck and watching the sunrise was our favorite thing to do. We had fun trying to be chefs in the gourmet kitchen. We visited many wineries and hiked the Blue Ridge, where we got engaged that weekend! Overall, a quiet, serene spot, letting us get away from it all without really getting away.
Rebecca Pittsburgh, PA - December 2013

Perfect Escape

Five Peaks at Wintergreen was just the escape this crazy family of toddler twins and a big sister needed. Kids LOVED the "mountain tree house" (that's their name for the home), and parents loved the gracious hospitality of the hosts, the home's layout, and the unexpected bells and whistles: wine, juice and fresh flowers awaiting us; good coffee; a fire ready to roar; loft space set-up perfectly for kiddos (requiring extra effort of owners); the views and that SHOWER with HEATED FLOORS (a fave of the entire family). Hope to return, perhaps in a different season to experience 5 Peaks a bit differently. Kudos to our lovely hosts!
Allison & Family - December 2013 Washington D.C.

Perfect Getaway

We had a fantastic time at Five Peaks. Debra's house is perfect for a getaway to the Charlottesville/Wintergreen area. It is perfectly located on Route 151, within 20 minutes of all of the breweries and wineries in the area. The house itself was perfect, as well. The kitchen was about as good as it gets. We have never had more fun cooking! Between the fireplace, the heated floors in the bathroom, and the wine and cheese waiting for us, we could not have asked for a better experience. Thanks, Debra!
Sam Richmond, VA - December 2013

Beautiful and Peaceful

Such a beautiful and peaceful home with all the bells and whistles! Everything you could possibly need for a fun and relaxing vacation - and in a luxury setting with a beautiful view of the mountains. Can't wait to come back!
